In the earlier phases of Coronavirus, the (perhaps intentionally) misunderstood concept of “herd immunity” was taken up as a strategy to combat the rising threat of the virus. That strategy? No social distancing, no shelter in place – just get as many people sick as possible to make everyone immune, or something.
